September was a packed month at FFxF! You can now rent a machine by the hour, drive it through an API, and as of this week, take it without IPv4 for 2 CAD less per month. Here are the main changes since September 1.

🎁 10 CAD of free credit with code TRY10

Long-time customer or brand new, the code TRY10 adds 10 CAD of free credit to your account.

That runs an IPv6-only Nano for almost a full month, powered on around the clock, or lets you try any plan by the hour without spending a cent.

In the console: Account → Credits → I have a credit code, then enter TRY10.
Or right in the code field of the order page.
Once per account, with a verified email. The free credit is valid for 60 days.

🌐 New: the IPv6-only VPS, 2 CAD less per month

Every plan now comes without a public IPv4, for 2 CAD less per month (20 CAD less per year). The Nano drops from 8.50 to 6.50 CAD a month, and from 0.018 to 0.014 CAD an hour.

Your machine keeps its IPv6 address and its routed /64 block. It still reaches the whole Internet, even sites with no IPv6 such as GitHub: our NAT64 gateway takes care of it, with nothing to configure.

It is a great fit for a build server, an AI agent, a compute node or a machine you only reach over SSH. One condition: connect from an IPv6 network, or use the browser console.

To pick it, choose "IPv6 only" in the Network card of the order page. In the API, just add "ipv4": false.

Rent a machine by the hour

You can now rent any plan by the hour, from your prepaid credit. The Nano costs 0.018 CAD an hour, and every hour started is owed.

Machine off, smaller bill: while your VM is stopped, you only pay for its disk and IPv4, that is 0.006 CAD an hour for a Nano.
Switch to monthly or yearly in one click, without rebuilding the machine.
Usage statement one click away in the menu, deleted machines included.

An API and an MCP server for your tools and AI agents

Everything the console does can now be done through the API, at api.ffxf.net/v1: order, start, stop, reinstall, destroy, read your usage. Keys are created in the console, with scopes limited to what your tool needs.

A monthly budget the API will never exceed, set with a single call.
A "trial" mode that checks an order and prices it without creating anything.
An MCP server at ffxf.net/mcp: Claude, Codex or your own agent can rent and drive a VPS on their own, with 20 tools.

Network

A routed IPv6 /64 block per machine, replacing the 4 IPv6 addresses from before. It works out of the box on Linux, Windows and FreeBSD, and it shows on your server's overview.
No more throttling when you go over your traffic. Beyond your included 1 TB, traffic is billed at 2 CAD per TB, and your bandwidth stays full.

New ready-to-use images

Windows Server with MetaTrader 4 or 5 preinstalled, in 2019, 2022 and 2025, in a new "Trading" family.
